DESCRIPTION: The City of Chandler has a
very exciting employment opportunity for a Public Works Engineer who will
perform senior level engineering and construction management duties in the
Engineering Division's Offsite Construction Management Group. Responsibilities
include oversight of offsite construction and inspections, specifications and
standards and infrastructure management. This unique opportunity will also
provide assistance on complex professional engineering work, which includes
private development and private utility projects. We are seeking an individual
with exceptional project management skills, strong leaderships skills and a
team-oriented focus.
The ideal candidate will be an individual who can provide a high level of
leadership. vision and strategic planning in the management and administration
of the City's private development and utility work. The successful candidate
will be a self-starter with the ability to work cross-functionally across
organization lines to deal with complex situations in a team effort. Strong
organization and communication skills are critical in this position.
MINIMUM AND DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree (Master's preferred)
and over five years recent experience in public works project management,
including experience working with private developers and utility companies.
Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona is required, or
the ability to obtain within six months of hire. A minimum of two years
supervisory experience is required, as well as significant experience with
contract administration and project management budgeting. Candidates who have
experience working in a municipal, state or local government environment will be
highly considered.
