DESCRIPTION: McHenry County, Illinois (est. 318,000 residents) is a fast growing, progressive County located approximately 45 miles northwest of Chicago. The County seeks an experienced Nursing Home Administrator to lead its 128 bed facility consisting of 150 full and part time employees. The County, consisting of some 610 square miles, has operated a nursing home facility since the 1800’s in Woodstock (location of the County seat).

Candidates must possess the Illinois Nursing Home Administrator license, or have a similar license from another state with the ability to get the Illinois license in 6 months.  Applicants must have a minimum of five (5) years progressive experience (preferably in long term care) in a healthcare leadership role in a facility of similar size and complexity, or larger, as the McHenry County facility. Familiarity with Medicare, Medicaid, and other intergovernmental transfer programs required.  Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, budgetary analysis and financial reporting necessary.

Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in health care or social services or related field; Master’s Degree a plus.  Ideal candidates should have strong leadership and communication skills (both oral and written); possess excellent motivational and organizational skills; have a background which demonstrates revenue enhancement and reduction of operating inefficiencies; and experience in personnel management.   Appointment made by the County Administrator.  Residency is not required.
